Our CMS Rating

Chapin Home holds a four-star quality rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), positioning us as a reliable provider of nursing and skilled care services in the senior care industry.

What is a CMS Rating?

Introduced in 2015, the CMS’ Quality Rating System is a standardized measure, designed to help seniors and their loved ones quickly compare potential skilled nursing facilities. A community’s rating takes health inspections and staffing into account, alongside scores on 15 quality measures. Exploring these ratings can be a great starting point in your search for a skilled nursing facility, however the CMS stresses that no rating system can effectively address all the personal considerations you will need to make.

Additional factors like whether a facility offers specialized care, or how close by they are to allow for all-important family visitation are equally as vital. For example, Chapin Home has a long and well-established history of delivering quality senior care, with tenured staff and excellent memory care, wound, surgical, cardiac and rehabilitation programs. The CMS recommends viewing their rating as one piece of a puzzle rather than the whole picture, urging families to gather additional information and arrange in-person visits wherever possible.

  • Despite increased demands presented by the pandemic, our residents received adequate time with licensed nurses, nurse aides and physical therapists.
