Chapin Home for the Aging’s mission has remained steadfast since Mrs. Hannah Chapin opened our doors for the first time in 1869. Throughout history and to this day, Chapin Home has strived to provide residents with a true home, constantly adapting and evolving to suit the ever-changing healthcare needs of aging seniors.
At Chapin Home for the Aging, patient and resident care, safety and security are our top priority. In addition to following New York State Department of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, we employ policies and procedures which support the wellbeing of every resident. Learn more about our procedures for prevention, policies for in-person visits, how to schedule a video chat and read the most up to date family notifications regarding Covid-19.
Our goal is to ensure the wellbeing and good health of our residents. As such, we have established important infection prevention and control guidelines we ask staff, residents and family members to adhere to.
Chapin Home is vigilant to follow the guidance of the NYSDOH, CDC and CMS and we implement proactive measures to protect residents and staff. We welcome visitors and offer in-person visits and ask that guidelines be followed as a precautionary safety measure.
Continual communication with loved ones is vital to ensuring connection. When visiting a friend or loved one isn’t possible, we offer video chats on a limited basis via Zoom and Apple FaceTime.
Federal, state and local guidance regarding Covid-19 continually changes as health officials learn more. As such, we provide continual communication to keep family members and friends informed.
