Visitors are welcome with a COVID-19 negative test to enter the facility, which is required by the Dept. of Health for all visitors.
- Visitor Testing:
- All nursing homes must verify that visitors have received a negative SARS-CoV-2 test result one day prior to visitation for antigen tests and two days prior to visitation for NAAT (e.g., PCR) tests.
- Chapin Home is unable to conduct onsite testing of Visitors at this time.
- Chapin Home will be providing self-administered test kits to visitors who are unable to test outside the facility or meet the required time frame.

Chapin Home is informing all Families that as of today, Thursday, December 30th, we have reported the following statistics to the Department of Health regarding COVID 19 cases in the facility: one (1) new positive Employee case. Chapin continues to adhere to CMS regulations and guidance for COVID-19 outbreak testing and is strictly adhering to Core Principles of Infection Prevention. Although Chapin is currently mandated to remain open for visitation, we are imploring that you DO NOT VISIT if you suspect you have been exposed or are not feeling well. Due to the rapidly increasing Queens County positivity rate, which has currently risen to 18.76%, Chapin reminds all who must enter the facility, per the CMS guidelines, regardless of vaccination status, that they should wear face coverings or masks properly and throughout entire visit and always physically distance. Your patience and cooperation are appreciated as Chapin Staff continue to keep your loved ones safe during these trying times. Chapin Home requests that this information is shared with all family members.

Chapin Home would like to inform all Families that as of today, Sunday December 26th, we have reported one (1) positive COVID-19 case to the Department of Health. This positive case (1) comes from a resident. Chapin continues to adhere to CMS regulations and guidance for COVID-19 outbreak testing.
Please note that the positivity rate in the Queens County for the last 7 days is 10.14% which is considered to be high. Due to the County positivity rate we would like to remind all visitors that as per the CMS guidelines Residents and Visitors, regardless of vaccination status, should wear face coverings or masks and physically distance, at all times. If you suspect a recent exposure – DO NOT visit your loved one at Chapin. We need everyone’s help to keep the Residents and Staff safe.

An outbreak investigation is still on-going, to swiftly detect, identify and/or rule out any other cases. Chapin is adhering to CMS regulations and guidance for COVID-19 outbreak testing.
While it is safer for visitors to not enter the building during an investigation, visitors are still allowed in the facility. Please follow all Chapin Home guidelines for your protection and that of our staff and residents.

An outbreak investigation has been initiated due to a new admission to Chapin Home who has subsequently tested positive for COVID-19. To swiftly detect, identify and/or rule out and other cases, Chapin is adhering to CMS regulations and guidance for COVID-19 outbreak testing.
